The artistic vision of my photography is to transform ordinary, and often overlooked landscapes into ethereal images. The otherworldly appearance of invisible light captured through infrared photography, provides the ideal qualities to express a dreamlike portrayal of the vistas that surround me. Growing up along Colorado’s Front Range, and spending much of my childhood on the vast wide open plains, has influenced my art tremendously, to include my rendering of negative space as an illustration of quietude. Through my images I strive to illuminate the austere ruggedness of western scenes, the silence of the prairie, and the soul-stirring mystery of the desert. A friend recently commented, “I love the haunting quality of your photography. Your photos have an otherworldly sense of half-remembered dreams.” Infrared photography has given a voice to my vision, allowing me to share the unique way I connect with the land I dearly love.
